Barnea: Hosting AI & Regulation Conference

Our firm hosted the “AI & Regulation" conference, with the participation of Gilad Samama, head of the Israel Privacy Protection Authority, and other senior officials. The conference was held in collaboration with the International Association of Privacy Experts (IAPP) and the Israel-America Chamber of Commerce. At the conference, Dr. Avishay Klein, head of our firm’s privacy, data protection and cyber practice, lectured on the regulation of artificial intelligence in Israel and around the world.

Ministry of Economy and Industry v. Coca-Cola: Gal Rozent Interview

Last March, Coca-Cola alerted retailers of a 7% price increase for its sugary drink products. Yesterday, the Israeli Ministry of Economy and Industry informed Coca-Cola of its intention to examine the need for supervision of the company's products in Israel. The ministry suspects Coca-Cola’s significant product price increase may affect the beverage sector in Israel as a whole. Israeli Court Rules Foreign Workers Not Entitled to Old-Age Pension

The Haifa District Court recently adjudicated on the rights to a pension of a group of foreign workers who had finished their employment and subsequently left Israel. The court determined, as a general rule, that a foreign worker who is not a resident of Israel is not entitled to old-age pension from the National Insurance Institute. Amos E. Barnea: Representing Eshkolot in Lawsuit against Netflix

District Court Dismisses 66 Class Actions over Accessibility

In a precedential ruling, the Tel Aviv District Court dismissed 66 motions to certify class actions filed against dozens of public companies. The motions alleged the companies’ financial reports and reporting to the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange’s MAYA system were not accessible to people with disabilities.
